Black Hole Approach
This animation shows how counter intuitive a black hole approach proberbly looks like due to the strong gravitational lensing. The redshift in light occurs where light is traveling away from the observer and the blueshift where it is coming towards. The accretion disk consists mainly of plasma and last pieces of very hot matter. This animation is so to say slow motion as it would actually move close to the speed of light. What a place!

The VDBs were created procedurally in Cinema4D R20 with Volume Builder. There are 10 layers of 4 different VDBs with different sizes rotating at increasing rates towards the inner ring. Rendered in Redshift. Shout-out to the redshift developers - i ran into a problem with the lensing shader and within a very short time they fixed it.
